Last week I was so honored to be asked to assist the Chanel S/S 2011 RTW show... For those of you that may not know, that means the Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 Ready-To-Wear runway show! After all the hard work of the prep, it was time to drool over the clothes. The collection was full of the traditional Chanel designs, as well as a huge focus on textures, cutouts, weaving, leather, distress fabrics, jewels, crystals, and more. The girls looked gorgeous in natural makeup with a simple, sleeked-back low pony. Since the target audience is a bit older than the age of the models, (who my age can afford Chanel?) the show also included a few older models; Including the beautiful and talented Gail Elliot of Little Joe Women clothing line.
Here are some photos I was able to snap behind the scenes, enjoy:
They later realized, and changed it to '2011' - Silly mistake!
Worth the wait!
The layout straight from Paris! Part of it included a man and child wearing same head-to-toe outfits, so adorable! Our show didn't have that section though. Chain linked gloves and weaved metal bracelets.
One of my besties, Skamy, steaming away.
Chanel Sample tags.
There was a matching jacket with the same cutout leather, weaved with colored fabric... so pretty!
The range included a lot of feathers... Samatha Harris wore a beautiful feathered neck jacket! (see last photo).
Lots of distressed fabrics and cutouts.
Iconic Chanel symbol makes a simple black wedge stand out.
These were my favorites! Classic motorcycle boots. The leather felt like butter!
These wedges has real chains weaved into the patterns.
Gorgeous jewels and more shoes!
I adore this purse! SO over the top, but with jeans and a t-shirt, it'd be perfect everyday chic!
More jewels!!
The gorgeous Vanessa Milde draped in Chanel jewels.
The girls lined up, ready to go. Hair was a simple sleaked back, low-pony.
A working fountain in the middle of the runway.
The Parisian courtyard-inspired runway.

Here are some of Vogue Australia's photos from the runway:

Such a fun night!
